Breastfeeding scavenger hunt

My Breastfeeding downfall as 16.

When I fell pregnant with our first child I knew I wanted to breast feed, None of the women had breastfed in my family but it was something I felt strongly about that I wanted to try. Unfortunately back then I didn't do as much researched as I now know I should of so when he was born I just winged it and it worked. He fed in the hospital after a few man handles from the nurses and that was us we were off on our journey. Then we were released

Never Dream Small

Don't get me wrong I Love my babies, I love that my blog is able to help other parents out with helpful products and I love how I can share and you can relate to the good and the bad days that we all go through as parents.

This blog was started for me as a diary of my pregnancy and day to day loves and moans. Since starting A New Addition things have changed so much for me. Not only with having a new child to care for but also for having a new outlook on life with some fabulous people to enjoy it with.

I always knew I needed something to aim for in life and have spent many years trying to find it, I believe in fate and I honestly believe that my blog has made me who I am. I have met the most amazing and influential people in my life of whom I would never if had the chance to say hi to let alone to call them my friend. It has shown me the path to meet people who not only can I learn from but who are willing to explain and help me and most importantly when things get tough - tell me to man up, build a bridge and get over it.

I want to take the time to thank all of you, when I feel down or when I feel amazing I always feel like there is someone there. In the early days of breastfeeding when it's scary and really hard I never felt alone there was always a tweet or a message of support. I appreciate that in my journey of life I get to share it with you, positive thinking and positive actions are the key. 'Never Dream Small!' and with you lot behind me how can I!

Things are about to get exciting! I can feel it and that is mainly because I am going to try my damned hardest to make it happen. In the next few years changes will definitely be occurring because I will make them, and I will make them work. I want to be a mummy my boys can be proud of, I want to be the wife Andrew will be proud to marry, I Want to be a woman who I can look in the mirror and be proud of. I will be that woman! Onwards and Upwards sweeties <3

Saving money on Maternity Clothes

This is a Guest post from mum and baby online

Saving money on Maternity Clothes

Are you at that stage yet in your pregnancy where your waistband is starting to expand? Things are getting a little too snug and you’re having to think about larger sizes and maternity wear.

A great place to look at is on an auction site, many people sell of bundles of their maternity wear so you can sometimes pick up a whole maternity wardrobe for a small price. And remember, the size you need equals the size you are in ‘normal clothes’, so if you’re a 12 then you’ll need size 12 maternity clothes. This stumped me to start with!

If you’re looking to buy new I have a fab tip! If you head to the tall section that some of the shops have you can pick up t-shirts and jumpers at a nice price and they are a perfect length to keep those tummies covered!

Hannah from A New Addition's tip: Look out for posts on recycling sites as some women may be trying to help out by offering her preloved pregnancy clothes.

And of course, don’t forget to come and sign up with mum and baby online, with one simple form you will be signed up to businesses such as Huggies and Pampers and will receive newsletters from them with vouchers, advice and competitions.

Review of Fuschia Horizontal Stripes Mexican Bola Necklace

 Received from Mexican Bola
Fuschia Horizontal Stripes Mexican bola
The Mexican Bola is a chime ball that was first worn by pregnant women in Mexico who learned through generations of motherhood that the soothing sound of the Mexican Bola against the tummy had a calming effect on their babies before and after birth.
The great thing about a Mexican Bola is that not only is it a fashionable item to wear when you're pregnant but it is also stylish enough to wear around your neck when baby has grown up. It is also a beautiful keepsake to pass from the hands of loved ones, to weave your story and simply to remember.

The beautiful relaxing sound from the Mexican Bola is produced by tiny chimes inside the pendant. Read more to see what I think about it.

Review of Dreamgenii Pregnancy Support & Feeding Pillow

Received from Dreamgenii

Pregnancy Support & Feeding Pillow

The dreamgenii® Pregnancy Pillow is Recommended by Midwives across the UK and is recognised as the only specifically designed pregnancy pillow to adequately support back, bump and knees at the same time without taking up all of the room in the bed.

It encourages you to lie on your left side which is the best position for mother and baby (But is just as comfortable on your right by passing the leg support through the back of your knees) and gently prevents you from rolling on to your back during your sleep (Which can restrict blood-flow to your baby).

Using the dreamgenii®Maternity Pillow from about 20 weeks pregnant, can also encourage your baby to adopt the optimal birth position which can mean a shorter and less painful labour. The dreamgenii pregnancy pillow used as a breastfeeding support, is designed to support your back during feeding and keep the baby at the correct height and position for breastfeeding.

Here is a Video on how to use the dreamgenii pillow correctly click How to use!

How did I get on

I am 18weeks pregnant now and even from day 1 I  have notice a massive difference is getting comfy at bedtime, In fact I did a Sleep test the other day where I didn't sleep with my dreamgenii pillow and I ended up being awake in the early hours listening to my partner snore :/ Not fun!

At first when I received it I thought.. no more cuddles for me as I was restricted to lying on my left side but once watching the how to use video I was very impressed! I would say if you were planning on buying a dreamgenii it is definately a must watch! I will add the link below too :)

Okay soo.... Abit about me

I am very excited right, I believe everything happens for a reason and I am hoping the Lady I stumbled across on a small enquiry today will end up to be someone very influential in my Life.

I feel today like I would like to blog a bit about how my life has changed. I won’t ramble to much aha.

From Finding out I was pregnant at school my main objective has always been to succeed in life for my baby, from being a truant I then regained my work in school and came out with all my GCSES they may not be A*s but I am very proud of what I had achieved.

After leaving school I tried to enrol myself on a college course and was told because I was pregnant there was a small percentage that I would even bother to return to education so they wouldn't enrol me. Well, More fool them as I enrolled on a part time computer course (I used to penguin walk there with my bump) ECDL. And once my son was born a week later I returned.

So when I had passed that I went back to college, looking at the course I had done if I did business (they put me straight onto level 3) it would mean they would cut the hours because I had already passed the ECDL meaning I could spend more time with my baby. How perfect!! So that's what I did

Things have changed ALOT since I have had my son, and although I had many put downs about how it would be as a mother and within my Life I feel that he is my reason for life, and so far he has made me who I am.

I am hoping in the future I will give my children the best possible life that I can and I will work my damned hardest to do what I can to make myself successful in life for me and them.
Pregnant at 16
Here is me pregnant with my firstborn. There has definitely been a major change in my attitude :) xx

13+1 day pregnant!! Where is my Energy???

Right now My clothes feel tight :/ I am now living in Leggings *stylish, I feel constantly drained!!

I receieved an email from a company with weekly pregnancy emails saying my Energy should start returning soon. I hope so as I am sick of feeling like lazy death. I just don't understand where I have put my energy it seems to be lost in this mound of clothes that no longer fit.

It is hard to get comfy so I am finding getting to sleep is uncomfortable, whether it is the growing pains, the not being at a reasonable temperature (either too hot or too cold) or that my pyjamas no longer sit where they should. I am just finding this whole 'sleep thing' eww!!

Okay Moan over Have a nice day! x

Review Palmers Stretchmark Sample Pack

I won a Competition from PalmersUK on Facebook and here are the Photos of the Sample Pack I won.

Palmers, Stretchmark, Baby

And 2 Sample sachets, The Baby Butter I shall be saving for when my baby is born :D

The 2 Stretch mark lotions and cream coming from the top Right have a lovely smooth texture, they stop the itch of your stomach stretching when massaged in. I found the Cocoa smell very relaxing.. and gorgeous smelling.

The Tummy butter soaks in very well when put in the palm of your hand it instantly melts with the warmth, it doesn't have the lovely nice strong cocoa smell the others have but it makes your skin feel Lovely

I have found my experience with cheaper body butters, lotions and creams just seem to just sit on my skin for a while and make sticky where as Palmers products were a delight to use, Lovely smelling soaks in well.

The cocoa butter for dry skin with vitamin was nabbed by my boyfriend as he gets sore legs, which he actually found to work. For taking the dryness soreness away.

I found using the oil when I woke up in the morning stopped the dry feeling I have been getting on my skin in the morning as my stomach begins to grow.

Although this is  'stretchmark' Pack I would say these products would be acceptable for Anyone to use, I used the Dry skin one on my son he is 3 and he LOVED the smell of it :)

If I was to recommend what I thought was the best of these products to a pregnant friend I would recommend the Tummy Butter as I just felt for me, this would be the one to work the best.

12+5 weeks Pregnancy bump

So far so good I think, I am now 12+5weeks pregnant but my bump is quite big (I think) because I am only in the early stages of pregnancy I cannot actually comment on how these products work on Stretchmarks but they do relieve the itchy feeling of stretching and I have no stretchmarks as of yet. As my samples are coming to an end I think I will have to go to the shop and buy some more products to try... So I will Update throughout my pregnancy on how I am doing with stretchmarks cross your fingers for me xx
